FedEx Truck Crashes Into Utility Pole In Trussville

A Fedex 18-wheeler struck a utility pole on Gadsden Highway causing several connected utility poles in the nearby area to snap.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — A FedEx truck crashed into a utility pole in Trussville Wednesday, causing significant damage and traffic issues. The incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Gadsden Highway.

The crash caused several connected utility poles in the nearby area to snap. Multiple utility lines are down across several roads surrounding the crash site, according to a Trussville Tribune report.

Several nearby businesses are without power and the accident has traffic at a standstill from both directions on U.S, Highway 11 and most feeder roads in the area are backed up as well.

Trussville Fire Chief Tim Shotts said were no injuries in the crash. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible until the scene can be cleared.
