Gadsden Man Indicted In Trussville Carjacking
A 23-year-old man has been indicted in two carjacking incidents, one in Gadsden and another in Trussville.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 23-year-old Gadsden man has been indicted in relation to two carjackings - one in Gadsden and another in Trussville. Luis Sebastian Tello is charged in a five-count indictment with stealing a vehicle at gunpoint from a pizza delivery driver in Gadsden, and then a second carjacking at a gas station in Trussville.
A report by Alabama Media Group said the Trussville crime happened about 10:38 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25, in the 5300 block of Deerfoot Parkway. Authorities said Tello pointed a gun at the driver and forced him and two children out of the car. The suspect fled in the stolen vehicle and got onto Interstate 59 at the exit 143 entrance ramp heading northbound.
Springville Police Department stopped Tello for speeding on Interstate 59. Tello reportedly fled into the woods and officers from multiple agencies engaged in a manhunt that resulted in his capture later that evening.

Tello is charged with two counts of carjacking, two counts of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.

If convicted, Tello faces up to 15 years in prison for carjacking. The penalty for possession of a firearm during a crime of violence is not less than seven years in prison. The maximum penalty for being a felon in possession of a firearm is 10 years in prison.
