High School Football Polls: Huskies, Eagles Fall Out Of Top 10

Losses by Center Point and Hewitt-Trussville last week dropped both teams out of the AWSA rankings.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — Losses by Center Point and Hewitt-Trussville last week dropped both teams from the most recent Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings Wednesday.

A heartbreaking loss to Mountain Brook in the final seconds of Friday night's game dropped Hewitt-Trussville out of the top 10. The Huskies play Tuscaloosa County Friday.

Center Point's impressive run as of late came to a stop with a 17-6 loss to Sylacauga. The loss dropped the previously 6th-ranked Eagles out of the poll. Center Point faces Moody this week.

Pinson Valley defeated Huffman 42-12 last week, and remained in the top 5 ahead of the Indians game this week against Pell City.

Clay-Chalkville remained unranked after a 49-0 win over Pell City, but the Cougars face Oxford this week, with a win putting them back in the rankings and back in the playoff picture.
