High School Football Rankings: Pinson Valley Remains In Top 5

Despite victories last week, Center Point and Clay-Chalkville remained outside the ASWA top 10.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — This week's Alabama Sports Writers Association poll did not reward local schools Center Point and Clay-Chalkville, despite those teams notching impressive wins. Pinson Valley is the only ranked team in the area this week.

Pinson Valley took care of business last week, defeating Pell City 44-0, as the defending state champs retained their no. 4 ranking. The Indians face Lee this week.

Center Point remained unranked, despite a 44-10 mauling of Moody. The Egales can possibly capture a region title, however. Center Point faces 4th-ranked Central-Clay County Friday.

Hewitt-Trussville beat regional foe Tuscaloosa County 24-21, and look to finish the season in strong fashion despite being eliminated from playoff contention. The Huskies face top-ranked Thompson Friday.
