High-Speed Chase Into Center Point Ends In Arrest

A robbery suspect led police on a high-speed chase into Center Point before being taken into custody Monday afternoon.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A robbery suspect led Birmingham police on a high-speed chase that ended in Center Point, after Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies joined the chase. The suspect was taken into custody Monday afternoon.

A report by Alabama Media Group said Birmingham police were dispatched to a robbery at Alfa Insurance on Huffman Road at approximately 4:30 p.m. The suspect, a black male, was leaving the location as police arrived. The suspect then led officers on a pursuit until it ended in the 2200 block of Fourth Place Circle South in Center Point.

The suspect is currently being questioned by police and has not been charged with a crime. No one was injured in the pursuit. However, one Birmingham police patrol vehicle and one Jefferson County patrol vehicle was damaged.
