Huskies Take On Bucs In Clash Of State Champions
Hewitt-Trussville will open the state baseball playoffs against defending state champions Hoover.

HOOVER, AL - The Hewitt-Trussville baseball team will open its state playoff run at Hoover Friday, in a clash of the last two 7A state champions. The 25-8 Huskies will face the top-ranked Bucs in a doubleheader set for Friday at 5 p.m., with a third game to be played Saturday if necessary.
With the top-notch pitching from Carson Skipper and one of the best infields in the state, the Huskies look to upset Hoover, who cruised to an area championship last week.
Hoover won the area championship last week with two wins over Tuscaloosa County on the strength of a dazzling pitching performance by Scott Elgin and the big bats of Nick Davis, Sonny DiChiara, Nolan Hammonds, Daniel Swatek and Alex Baty.
