Huskies To Play For State Title
The Hewitt-Trussville High School baseball team is headed to the state championship series against Auburn High School.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - The Hewitt-Trussville baseball team is another step closer to winning its second state championship in three years, after the Huskies defeated Bob Jones in the semifinals over the weekend.
The Huskies swept Bob Jones on the road, but not without some drama. In Game Two, Hewitt-Trussville needed some last-inning heroics to capture the win. Ace Carson Skipper had tossed six innings, giving up 5 hits, striking out 7 and walking 4. Davis Burgin picked up the win in relief.
The last inning - with HTHS trailing 4-3 - saw Michael Fowler and Caden Kirk hit back-to-back singles, and Burgin walk on four pitches. Jacob Bishop then hit a one-out single to right field for the walk-off hit.
