Huskies Softball Team Riding Winning Streak
The Hewitt-Trussville softball team has won four straight games, and has done so in convincing fashion.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - The Hewitt-Trussville High School softball team is on a roll. The Huskies have won four straight, and done so in dominating fashion. Coach Taylor Burt’s team is now 13-4 on the season. The team played a weekend tournament in Oxford to notch their latest victories.
Hayden Neugent threw five shutout innings to lead the Huskies to a 7-0 win over White Plains in the tournament opener. Neugent allowed just three hits and struck out five batters. Molly Cobb led the team at the plate with two hits and four RBI’s. Tate Moseley also had two hits for Hewitt.
In a 5-0 shutout over Daphne, Molly Cobb pitched a complete game and allowed just two hits to pick up the win. Cobb also had a hit and two RBI’s at the plate. Hannah Borden and Kaitlyn McDaniel also had hits for the Huskies.

In a drama-filled win over Lincoln, the Huskies scored a run in the bottom of the final inning to come away with a 5-4 win. Anyce Harvey started the game on the mound and threw two strong innings. Neugent came on in relief and picked up the win. Tate Moseley led the team at the plate with two hits and four RBI’s.
HTHS then put away Jasper 9-1, as Cobb pitched a complete game and allowed just one hit while striking out eight. Crystal Maze and Hannah Borden had multiple hits for the Huskies. Mosley had three RBI’s.
