Huskies Swimmers Finish In Top 5 In Opening Meet

Hewitt-Trussville's swim team competed in the Honda of Jasper Invitational this week, and finished with impressive results.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — While football may be a prime focus of local sports fans at the moment, Hewitt-Trussville High School is excelling in other sports as well, including swimming. The Huskies swim team competed in the Honda of Jasper Invitational Sept. 26 and came away with an impressive finish.

Hewitt-Trussville grabbed a no. 4 finish at the meet, the first of the season. According to the Trussville Tribune, here is how Huskies swimmers finished:

  • Girls 200 Yard Medley Relay: Team: Kaitlyn Hardy, Niala Cross, Elly Fraser, Emily Rushing (Fourth Place)
  • Girls 100 Yard Free: Niala Cross (Fifth Place)
  • Boys 100 Yard Free: Joshua Starkey (Seventh Place)
  • Girls 50 Yard Free: Niala Cross (Fourth Place) and Elly Fraser (Seventh Place)
  • Boys 50 Yard Free: Joshua Starkey (Ninth Place)
  • Girls 50 Yard Fly: Emily Rushing (Sixth Place) and Kaitlyn Hardy (Tenth Place)
  • Boys 50 Yard Fly: Joshua Starkey (Seventh Place)
  • Girls 200 Yard Free: Elly Fraser (First Place)
  • Girls 50 Yard Back: Niala Cross (Fourth Place)
  • Girls 50 Yard Breast: Elly Fraser (Sixth Place)
