Irondale Police Officer Struck By Alleged Drunk Driver
An off-duty police officer was struck Monday night by an alleged drunk driver on I-459.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — An off-duty Irondale police officer was struck by an alleged drunk driver Monday night on I-459. The accident happened around 7:45 p.m. on I-459 near the interchange with I-20.
A WBRC report said a female driver who struck the officer's vehicle was charged with DUI and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
The officer was transported to UAB Hospital, but initial reports indicate that his injures are not life-threatening.
