BIRMINGHAM, AL - The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is looking for some rising high school seniors for summer internships. Students set to graduate in 2020 can use the program to see what kinds of jobs are available in law enforcement.

The program announcement was made Tuesday by Sheriff Mark Pettway. The three-week internship program runs from July 8-26, from 8:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day.

"This unprecedented three-week program will give rising seniors in high school an inside look at the various roles available within the Sheriff’s Office and the criminal justice system," Pettway said. "This is a great opportunity for any student who is interested in a career in criminal justice or law enforcement."
