JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Severe storms with heavy rain has caused significant flooding in parts of Jefferson County, prompting Jefferson County Schools to dismiss early Monday.

An announcement by the school system said buses are expected to leave between 2 p.m. and 2:15 p.m., and parents are asked to come get their children immediately.
