Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies Foil Burglary Attempt
Two men were arrested as they prepared to burglarize a pawn shop in Center Point early this morning.
BIRMINGHAM, AL - Two men were arrested as they prepared to burglarize a pawn shop in Center Point early Tuesday morning.
Just before 1 a.m. Tuesday, deputies were called to a U-Haul lot in the 100 block of 21st Ave NE to investigate a report of two men breaking into the windows. They arrived to find 26-year-old Raimon Dysart in front of Lee’s Pawn Shop. He was detained and found to be in possession of a handgun. While checking the area around the building, deputies located a car hidden behind the shop. Bolt cutters were fond leaning against the wall of the building near the car. Also detained was 24-year-old Langston Thomas who was found walking nearby.
Deputies questioned the pair and the suspects admitted that they had planned to break in to the pawn shop. Dysart was arrested and charged with Possession of Burglary Tools, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, and Carrying a Pistol without License. Thomas was arrested and charged with Possession of Burglary Tools, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Obstructing Government Operations.

Both men posted bond and were released pending court proceedings.
