Man Arrested In Center Point, Charged With Trafficking Heroin
A North Jefferson County man was arrested and charged with trafficking heroin after he fled deputies during a traffic stop in Center Point.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A 26-year-old North Jefferson County man was arrested and charged with Trafficking Heroin after he attempted to flee on foot from a traffic stop Friday morning.
Just after 10:30 Friday morning a Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy on patrol in Center Point conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge Charger for a tag violation. As deputies spoke to the driver of the car, the passenger got out and fled on foot. Other deputies pursued him and captured him a few blocks away. As the passenger was running, he tossed a sunglass case onto the ground. After he was captured, the sunglass case was recovered and found to contain marijuana and a trafficking amount of heroin.
The suspect, identified as 26-year-old Noveian Gardiner, was charged with Trafficking Heroin, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, Attempting to Elude and Resisting Arrest. He was also found to have two outstanding warrants for failing to appear in court on charges of Trafficking Heroin and Obstructing Justice.

Gardiner was taken to the Jefferson County Jail where he is held with no bond.
