Man Shoots At Deputies During Domestic Dispute: Police
A man is in custody after officials say he fired shots at Jefferson County deputies when they were responding to a domestic dispute.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — A 31-year-old man is in custody and being held in Jefferson County Jail without bond after an incident Sunday during which law enforcement officials say he fired shots at Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies.
A report by the Jefferson County Sheriff's office said deputies arrived just after 9:30 p.m. to a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of Wilderness Lane in the Grayson Valley community. A woman reported that her boyfriend was angry and breaking out the windows to her home, deputies said.
When deputies arrived at the home, the boyfriend, later identified as Justin Oneal McCurdy, came outside on the front porch with a pistol and fired shots in the air and then fired at the deputies, according to the report.

The deputies had been informed that there were children in the home and did not return fire. McCurdy reportedly retreated back inside the home and continued shooting in the home and out of a window, officials said.
Reports say McCurdy came out of the home, threw down his weapon and surrendered once back-up deputies arrived on the scene. No one was injured during the incident.
