Man Shot And Killed After Basketball Argument
A 53-year-old man was shot and killed in Center Point over the weekend after a dispute over basketball.

CENTER POINT, AL -A 53-year-old man was shot and killed Friday after a heated dispute with an acquaintance over basketball. Herman Williams, 53, died at UAB Hospital shortly after he was discovered by Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies.
Deputies were dispatched to investigate a shooting at the apartments located at 15th Terrace N.E. around 9:90 p.m. Friday. Deputies arrived and found Williams suffering from a gunshot wound.
Witnesses described the offender and the car that he was driving, and deputies were able to locate the suspect at a residence nearby. The offender has been identified as 47-year-old Lashaun Adarryl Netherly.

Netherly told detectives that the incident started "over an argument about basketball." Netherly has been charged with Murder and has a $50.000 bond.
