Midfield Basketball Coach Takes Pinson Job

PINSON, AL - Pinson Valley High School has plucked one of the state's most successful basketball coaches from Midfield High School. Darrell Barber, who won state basketball championships 2012, 2014 and 2017 at Midfield, was announced as the new head coach at Pinson Valley this week.

According to a report by the Trussville Tribune, Barber will replace Cedric Lane who was not retained after two seasons.

Barber made a statement on social media regarding his decision, saying, "It has been a long, arduous process, but after much thought, prayer and meetings with my family and close friends, I must say I am at peace with my decision to become head coach at Pinson Valley H.S."

He added, "I long for challenges in my life, and this will be no different."
