Multiple Fire Departments Battle Center Point Blaze

Center Point, Fultondale and Birmingham fire departments responded to a fire at Marco Incorporated on Carson Road.

CENTER POINT, AL - A fire Thursday night at Marco Incorporated, at the corner of Carson Road and Red Hollow near Highway 79, saw three local fire departments battle a massive blaze at the 15,000 square foot facility.

A report by the Trussville Tribune said the building has been on fire since around 5:30p.m. Center Point Fire Department was the first to respond, and was joined by Fultondale FD and Birmingham FD to control the fire. Marco owner John Matthews told the Trussville Tribune the company has been in business for 45 years and has been at the Carson Road location since 1995. They employ between 8 and 10 individuals. Matthews said he believes it will be "a year or more" before his business recovers from the fire.
