New Dollar General Plans Presented To Design Review Committee

A new free-standing Dollar General store is planned for the 400 block of Main Street in Trussville.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Trussville's Design Review Committee was able to see the plans for a new free-standing Dollar General store this week, as the Tennessee-based company looks to move forward with a location to be built in the 400 block of Main Street.

The current Dollar General location at 218 Main Street will close once construction of the 10,000 square foot freestanding store is complete, according to a report by the Trussville Tribune.

Dollar General representative Melissa Ballard sought recommendation from the DRC based upon the color variations for both brick and stone treatment. Given the prominent location of upon entering downtown Trussville, the DRC recommended that architectural interest be added to the exterior.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019.
