Paighton Houston Case: Trussville Woman Texted She Was In Trouble

BIRMINGHAM, AL — Missing Trussville resident Paighton Laine Houston has not been seen since Dec. 21when she left a Birmingham bar with two men. Family and friends of the the 29-year-old woman say she sent text messages that night indicating that she was in trouble.

Houston was seen leaving the Ton Roof on 7th Avenue South just before 11 p.m. Saturday, police said. Witnesses say she left the bar with two heavy-set African American men.

"At about 12:14 p.m. that night, she sent a text to one of the friends she was at the bar with, stating that she didn't know who she was with, and that she felt like she was in trouble," her brother Evan Houston said on "Good Morning America" Friday.

"The fact that she was reaching out for help and saying she was in trouble was a big red flag," Evan Houston added, saying his sister was capable of taking care of herself.

"It was reported that Paighton appeared to have left the location willingly with the two males," said Sgt. Johnny Williams of the Birmingham Police Department. "Paighton was wearing ripped blue jeans, coral colored tee-shirt and blue Converse shoes."
