Pinson Valley Returns To Number 1 Ranking

The Indians are nce again the top ranked team in Class 6A, while Hewitt-Trussville remains at No. 2 in Class 7A.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Pinson Valley finds itself again atop the Alabama Sports Writers Association Class 6A poll, a spot the Indians held to begin the season. An opening week loss to Hoover bumped Pinson from the top spot, but the team has been on a tear since that loss, and with a loss by Wetumpka over the weekend, PVHS has regained its No. 1 ranking.

Pinson Valley defeated Gardendale 42-7 to help its cause, while Hewitt Trussville cruised over Region 3 foe Vestavia Hills 41-6. Clay-Chalkville moved up to No. 4 in the latest poll after a 31-6 win over Shades Valley.

The Indians play Huffman this weekend, while Clay-Chalkville goes to Pell City to take on the Panthers. Hewitt-Trussville hosts Mountain Brook in a battle of top 10 teams Friday night.
