Sheriff's Office Investigates Threat At Clay-Chalkville School

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a threat on social media aimed at Clay-Chalkville Middle School.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a social media post that was alleged to have been a threat against Clay-Chalkville Middle School over the weekend.

On Saturday April 14, deputies were made aware of a Snapchat post that was being shared among students that claimed a student would be bringing a gun to the school today.

Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office School Resource Division investigated this case over the weekend. At least one student involved has been identified and was arrested, but no charges have been filed. There could be others involved that altered and re-posted the message, according to a report by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

"Investigators have found no credible threat to the school, students, faculty or staff," stated a report from the Sheriff's Office. "Once completed, the results of the investigation will be presented to Juvenile Court for a determination of what, if any charges, are filed against those involved."
