Shooting In Grayson Valley Under Investigation

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that occurred in Grayson Valley Thursday.

BIRMINGHAM, AL - A shooting in the Grayson Valley community Thursday is under investigation by the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. The incident happened just before 3 p.m. in the in the 1800 block of Pebble Lake Drive.

A report by the Sheriff's office said a homeowner came home and confronted two men as they were leaving his home. As a result of the confrontation, the homeowner was shot. The homeowner ran to a neighbors house to ask for help. The two offenders ran away on foot.

Neighbors reportedly gave a description of the men and deputies are actively searching for them. The homeowner was transported to an area hospital for treatment, and his condition is unknown at this time.

The JCSO report said it is possible that the intruders had a vehicle nearby, and that there is evidence on the scene that could lead to the identification of the offenders.
