St. Clair County Church School Teacher Charged With Sexual Abuse
A 19-year-old church school teacher in St. Clair County has been charged with abusing a 9-year-old child.

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL — A church school teacher in St. Clair County has been arrested and charged with sexually abusing a 9-year-old student. Austin Blake Greenway is charged with sex abuse of a child under the age of 12 and school employee engaged in a sex act with a student under the age of 19.
St. Clair County Sheriff Billy Murray said his office was contacted by the Margaret Police Department in June to look into the possible sex abuse of a 9-year-old at North Valley Church Early Learning Center and after-school program, according to an Alabama Media Group report.
Evidence was presented to a St. Clair County grand jury which led to the two-count indictment. Greenway surrendered to authorities on August 19 and has been released from jail after posting $50,000 bond. His next court date is set for Oct. 2.

Greenway, 19, had been employed by the church school for two years.
