Trial For Cracker Barrel Shooting Suspect Rescheduled
The trial for Bryan Hancock, accused of shooting and killing a man in the Trussville Cracker Barrel parking lot, has been rescheduled.

BIRMINGHAM, AL — The murder trial for Bryan Hancock, accused of killing Randy Young in the parking lot of the Trussville Cracker Barrel last March, has been pushed to November. Hancock was set to go on trial in August.
The shooting happened shortly before 9:30 p.m. March 28 at the restaurant on Norrell Drive. Trussville police dispatched to the scene found Young on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head. Trussville police Chief Eric Rush said the shooting stemmed from a dispute in the parking lot. It began, he said, when two men parked in a manner that blocked in the victim's vehicle. "An argument ensued, and it escalated to the point that the victim was shot by one of the suspects,'' Rush said. Hancock's attorneys claim the shooting was in self-defense.
Hancock's pretrial hearing is set for July 27. His trial is set for November 30.
