Trussville Car Break-In Suspect Charged With Intimidating Witness

A suspect in an April 23 car break-in in Trussville was arrested again after reportedly trying to intimidate a witness.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — One of a pair of suspects accused of breaking into a car in Trussville back in April was arrested again last week and charged with trying to intimidate a witness.

Madison Schofield, 21, and Jamie Everett, 22, both of Leeds, were arrested on Friday, April 26 in connection with a car break-in in Stockton Place. A Trussville Tribune report said police caught the two trying to steal gasoline from a vehicle.

Both men were arrested and are facing charges of unlawful breaking and entering into a vehicle and possession of burglary tools. They posted bond and were released from jail.

However, Schofield found himself back in jail last week, after he was accused of intimidating a witness and assault in the second degree. He is accused of putting a witness in a headlock, cutting the witness’s hand and threatening the witness, according to a court affidavit.

Schofield was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail on Sept. 16. He posted a $25,000 bond for the new charges and was released from jail on the same day.

Both Schofield and Everett have waived their preliminary hearing.
