Trussville Jewelry Store Theft Suspect In Custody

Trussville police arrested a Birmingham man and charged him in connection with a robbery at Zale's jewelry store Jan. 5.

TRUSSVILLE, AL — Police have arrested a Birmingham man suspected of robbing a jewelry store in Trussville. Olaja Burnett, 25, is accused of breaking into the Zale's store Jan. 5.

A report by the Trussville PD said Burnett is charged with third degree burglary, first degree theft of property, criminal mischief 1st, possession of burglary tools, fleeing/attempt to elude, criminal tampering and reckless endangerment.

Burnett will be transferred to the Jefferson County Jail with bonds totaling $55,900.
