Trussville Man Identified As Body Found In Lake
A body of a man found in Bayview Lake over the weekend has been identified, and authorities are investigating the death as a homicide.
TRUSSVILLE, AL - A body found in Bayview Lake near Pleasant Grove Friday has been identified as Billy Walker Powell Jr. He was 46 and had a last known address in Trussville. Powell's death is being ruled a homicide by law enforcement officials.
Capt. David Agee of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said fishermen discovered Powell's body just before 10 p.m. Deputies arrived to find the body floating in the water.
The JCSO has not said how Powell died, but did say his death is being investigated as a homicide. This report will be updated as more information is available.
