Trussville Organizations Helping Four-Legged Hurricane Victims
The Cahaba Dog Park, Trussville Dog Parks Auxiliary and Greater Birmingham Humane Society helped animal victims of Florence.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - So many people have been devastated by Hurricane Florence, which hit the Carolinas hard over the weekend. But some victims of the massive storm are in danger of going unnoticed. Those victims - pets left homeless from the disaster - are getting some help from volunteers in Trussville.
A report by the Trussville Tribune said the Cahaba Dog Park, Trussville Dog Parks Auxiliary and Greater Birmingham Humane Society banded together over the weekend to help the four-legged victims of Hurricane Florence.
On Saturday, representatives of those organizations convened at the Cahaba Dog Park, located at 531 Cherokee Drive in Trussville, ready to receive supplies that will be used to assist the animal victims of Hurricane Florence. Reports say the most needed supplies are:
- Dog/cat/kitten food (canned)
- Cat litter
- Cleaning supplies; dawn detergent, bleach, laundry detergent, etc.
- New leashes
- New collars
- New pet beds
- Tarps
- Large rubber containers
