Trussville Woman Wins Ms. Senior Universe Pageant

TRUSSVILLE, AL - Last week, Trussville resident Donna McGuffie was crowned the first Ms. Senior Universe at the Saxe Theater in Las Vegas. The pageant was the first to crown a senior woman as Ms. Universe.

McGuffie, 66, performed the song "Hurt" by Juice Newton in the talent portion of the pageant. She is not a life-long pageant cpntestant, either, she began competing in pageants after she turned 60.

The pageant entailed a week of interviews and talent performances, complete with an evening gown competition. The 15 final contestants were also able to attend the 2017 Miss Universe competition.
