Tyson Racks Up 5 TDs In Shootout Against Oak Mountain
Hewitt-Trussville quarterback Paul Tyson accounted for five touchdowns in the Huskies' 52-47 win over Oak Mountain.

TRUSSVILLE, AL - The University of Alabama coaching staff must be licking its chops after Friday night. In addition to Bama commit Taulia Tagovailoa's performance (33-of-61 passes for 474 yards and four touchdowns) in Thompson's 45-26 loss to Hoover Friday night, the Crimson Tide's other QB commit Paul Tyson racked up some impressive stats of his own in Hewitt-Trussville's 52-47 win over Oak Mountain.
In the shootout Friday, Tyson threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more scores, accounting for more than 400 yards of offense in the win. A large chunk of that offense was tallied by connecting with wide receiver Ja’Varrius Johnson, who finished with nine receptions for 243 yards and two touchdowns.
The Huskies needed every bit of that offensive performance against the Eagles, as Oak Mountain kept answering Hewitt-Trussville's scores throughout the night. (For more updates on this story and free news alerts for your neighborhood, sign up for your local Patch morning newsletter.)
