Warrants Issued In Shooting Death Of Teen In Center Point

JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL — Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigators have identified a suspect in the Nov. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Ja’Mari Demetrius Harris.

Sgt. Joni Money of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said investigators have obtained capital murder warrants for 27-year-old Antonio Nichols, II. Nichols, who is currently at large, is described as a 6-foot-tall black male who weighs approximately 200 pounds.

The shooting occurred around 7:20 p.m. Nov. 9 at the Park Brook Apartments off Chalkville School Road. Harris was found on the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
