2023 Mayor’s Cup 5K For Pre-K Set For April In Downtown Tuscaloosa
Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Wednesday announced that the city will host the 2023 Mayor's Cup 5K for Pre-K on Saturday, April 29.
Tuscaloosa, AL – Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Wednesday announced that the city will host the 2023 Mayor’s Cup 5K for Pre-K on Saturday, April 29 at 8 a.m.

Presented by Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, the annual race aims to raise funds for the Tuscaloosa Pre-K Initiative. The goal of the initiative is to expand pre-K access for Tuscaloosa children.

“Last year was a pivotal year for the Mayor's Cup, after returning for the first time in two years,” Maddox said. “I'm excited to be back on track with this event while continuing to support children in the community.”
The City of Tuscaloosa says the 5K is open to all ages and participants are welcome to run or walk.

Participants will receive timing chips attached to race bibs that will be used to determine race results, with awards presented at the conclusion of the race.
Registration opened on Wednesday, with a $15 registration fee through the end of February.
The registration fee will be priced at $20 during the month of March and $25 from April 1 to the day of the race on April 29.
