ALDOT Bridge Inspections To Prompt Lane Closures Next Week

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Friday announced plans to close lanes for two bridge inspections next week in Tuscaloosa

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) on Friday announced plans to close lanes for two bridge inspections next week in Tuscaloosa County.

Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 4, ALDOT said the inspections are due to separate crashes involving the Jack Warner Parkway bridge over US Highway 82 and Covered Bridge at Interstate 20/59 at Exit 86.

Additionally, ALDOT says the US Highway 82 westbound left lane will be closed Tuesday at 8:30 a.m., while a full closure will occur on Highway 82 eastbound at approximately 10 a.m. until noon.

ALDOT crews will reroute eastbound traffic to Jack Warner Parkway westbound, with motorists encouraged to take Highway 69 or other alternate routes.

ALDOT also said the I-20/59 westbound right lane at Exit 86 will be closed Tuesday at approximately 1 p.m. until roughly 4 p.m.
