ALEA Identifies Man Killed In Walker County Officer-Involved Shooting
ALEA has identified a 47-year-old Nauvoo man who was fatally shot by a Carbon Hill police officer Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says a 47-year-old Nauvoo man was fatally shot by a Carbon Hill police officer Wednesday during a welfare check at a Walker County residence.

ALEA said the shooting occurred in the 100 block of Posey Road when officers with the Carbon Hill Police Department and deputies with the Walker County Sheriff's Office responded to conduct a welfare check.

Investigators reported that the incident escalated when Christopher Scott Randolph, 47, allegedly brandished a firearm.
ALEA said a Carbon Hill Police officer then discharged his weapon, striking Randolph.

Randolph was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
ALEA said law enforcement officers were injured during the incident.
At the request of the Carbon Hill Police Department, special agents with ALEA's State Bureau of Investigation launched an investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
ALEA said the investigation remains ongoing.
Once completed, ALEA said its findings will be turned over to the Walker County District Attorney's Office for review.
