Aliceville High School Teacher Jailed On Child Porn Charges
An employee at Aliceville High School has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to child pornography

ALICEVILLE, AL — A teacher at Aliceville High School has been arrested on multiple felony charges related to child pornography, according to jail records and a statement released Monday by the Pickens County School System.

Roderick Granger, 41, was booked into the Pickens County Jail Friday night and charged with possession of child pornography, dissemination of child pornography, solicitation of child pornography, failure to report and an ethics violation.

The Aliceville High School website lists Granger as a math teacher in its staff directory
His bond was set at $1 million after he was arrested by the Aliceville Police Department.

In a press release issued Monday morning, Pickens County Schools Superintendent Shawn McDaniel confirmed the district is aware of the arrest.
“We want to assure our families and community that the district is fully cooperating with local law enforcement authorities,” McDaniel said in the statement. “This matter is currently an active criminal investigation being handled by the appropriate agencies. Because of the ongoing investigation and to protect the integrity of the legal process, the district is unable to provide additional details at this time.”
McDaniel emphasized that the safety and well-being of students and staff remain the district’s highest priority and said appropriate personnel actions have been taken pending the outcome of the investigation.
“As per district policy, appropriate personnel actions have been taken pending the outcome of the investigation,” he said. “We understand situations like this are concerning for our school community. We are committed to transparency while also respecting legal guidelines and the rights of all individuals involved.”
The investigation remains ongoing and no additional details were immediately available.
