City Of Tuscaloosa Accepting Applications For Two Different Boards

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa announced on Thursday that it is currently accepting resumes for two positions of the Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports Commission Board of Directors.

TTS is responsible for developing tourism through the promotion of attractions, food and entertainment facilities, and special events that bring tourists into the community.

The city says appointees must be qualified electors of the City of Tuscaloosa or work or operate a business within the corporate limits or city police jurisdiction.
The terms for the two seats are set to expire on Sept. 30, 2026.

The City of Tuscaloosa is also accepting applications for one supernumerary position and two regular positions on its Zoning Board of Adjustments for terms ending Sept. 30, 2026.
The Zoning Board of Adjustments is tasked with deciding requests for special exceptions, authorizing any variances from the Zoning Ordinance, and hearing and deciding appeals where there is believed to be an error in any order, requirement, decision, or determination made by the Zoning Officer.
The city says supernumerary members are appointed to serve on such boards at the call of the chairman, only in the absence of regular members.
Prospective members must be a resident of the City of Tuscaloosa and must be available to attend monthly meetings.
