Arrangements, Fundraisers Announced For Slain Bibb County Deputy
Bibb County officials have released details concerning memorial arrangements and fundraisers for fallen Bibb County Deputy Brad Johnson.

CENTREVILLE, AL — The Bibb County Sheriff's Department on Tuesday publicly announced details regarding memorial services for K9 Deputy Brad Johnson, who died last Thursday after being shot by a suspect during a pursuit of a stolen vehicle the day before.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 8, from 9 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the University of Montevallo's Student Activity, which is located at 61 College Drive in Montevallo.

Following the visitation, a private burial ceremony will take place in Centreville.
As Patch previously reported, Johnson was one of two deputies shot during the pursuit on Wednesday, June 29, with both men transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. While the other deputy was released shortly thereafter, Johnson died of his injuries the following day.

Austin Patrick Hall, 26, was located and arrested the morning after the shooting, which prompted a large-scale manhunt for Hall involving resources or support from nearly 50 different agencies.
What's more, two separate fundraising drives have been started, including the Deputy Brad Johnson Memorial Fund. Donations can be dropped off to any First US Bank or by mailing the donation to First US Bank at 135 Belcher Street.
A GoFundMe drive was also launched over the weekend to collection donations for Johnson's two children. As of the publication of this story, the GoFundMe had raised $500 toward its goal of $20,000.
