During an arraignment, a judge reads the formal charges against the accused, along with determining competency and explaining rights to the defendant, before then defendant then enters a plea to the charges.
Since Miles has a private defense attorney representing him, the Turner Law Group argues that he is competent to stand trial and reportedly understands the accusations leveled against him, which prompted his attorneys to waive the arraignment and enter a plea of "not guilty."
