On Monday, the Bucs failed to capitalize on a 5-0 lead to start the game and ultimately saw No. 3 seed Wabash Valley claw back to grab the win. This was despite a strong pitching performance from former Northridge High School standout Bodie Vail, who tossed six innings, surrendering 3 earned runs and loggings three strikeouts.

Unfortunately for the Bucs, they were pushed to the elimination round Tuesday with a 6-5 loss to Wabash Valley.

The Bucs then faced off Tuesday morning with No. 6 seed Gaston College (50-12), who jumped out to a 7-run lead before Shelton State finally got on the scoreboard in a 3-run bottom of the 5th inning.

Zeke Bishop, Jordan Evans, Cameron Brock and Kyle Morrison each logged RBIs for the Bucs in the losing effort, which saw Shelton State defeated 13-6.

Going 2-for-5 on the day, Evans continued to swing a bat through the NJCAA World Series from his lead-off spot, finishing the season having reached base safely in 13 consecutive games. This included a home run in his final at bat of the season in the bottom in the ninth to spark an ill-fated rally.

The trip to Grand Junction represented the sixth appearance in the NJCAA World Series in program history, all of which have come with Bobby Sprowl as head coach.

The Bucs finish the season 32-30.
