All are welcome to this Rock 'n Roll Eucharist featuring The Locals to explore the ways faith and spirituality are reflected in the music of The Rolling Stones, Jackson Browne, Blind Faith, The Eagles, George Harrison, Bon Jovi, The Band and The Allman Brothers.

Join us on April 19, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. for a free papermaking event at the Gorgas House! Learn how to make handmade sheets of paper, while learning the history of papermaking. Guests will be able to take home their own handmade sheet of paper, and people 7+ will also be able to make their own from start to finish! An activity table for younger children will also be provided, with crayons and markers. This event is in collaboration with The University of Alabama <a href="https://cis.ua.edu/departments/slis/book-arts/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Book Arts Program</a>!

The Gorgas House Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. or by appointment by calling 205-348-5906 or emailing&nbsp;<a href="mailto:gorgashouse@ua.edu" target="_blank">gorgashouse@ua.edu</a>.

The Gorgas House Museum is located at 810 Capstone Drive, Tuscaloosa, AL 35487, just off the Quadrangle of The University of Alabama campus (one block west of the Amelia Gayle Gorgas Library, at the corner of McCorvey and Capstone Drives).

Parking on Sundays is free in University of Alabama spaces.

Indie Bookstore Day was established in 2013 to promote, celebrate, and highlight the value of the independent bookstore community. The day has been observed on the last Saturday of April every year since 2013. This year there are over 1,600 stores participating across the country!
Independent Bookstore Day is organized by the American Booksellers Association, a national not-for-profit trade organization, that works with booksellers and industry partners to ensure the success and profitability of independently owned book retailers, and to assist in expanding the community of the book.&nbsp;
