
Event Details
On Saturday, June 13, 2026, visitors are invited to create your own necklace inspired by Moundville’s traditions! Join two site archaeologists and skilled craftsperson Bill Skinner to learn about personal adornment and trade at Moundville while making a catlinite bead or cowrie shell necklace to take home. A variety of beads and cordage options will be available. Catlinite bead necklaces are limited to the first 25 adults.
Drop in anytime between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Moundville residents must pay admission during this time to participate in this event.

Location
We will meet outside of the Jones Archaeological Museum at Moundville Archaeological Park.
Moundville Archaeological Park is located 13 miles south of Tuscaloosa, off Alabama Highway 69 and the physical address is 634 Mound State Parkway, Moundville, AL 35474-6413.
