Commission Makes Appointments To Industrial Development Board

The Tuscaloosa County Commission on Wednesday reappointed five current members of the board and filled a vacancy.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Commission, during a closed executive session following Wednesday's regular meeting, made six appointments to the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors.

The four-member County Commission appoints five members to the board, while the probate judge has two appointments. The 22-member Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority Board of Directors heads up the lead agency for industrial recruitment and expansion in Tuscaloosa County. TCIDA aims to serve as a "one-stop shop" for manufacturing and distribution for investors interested in new site locations or expanding operations.

The Tuscaloosa County Commission re-appointed the following individuals who are presently on the board to new four-year terms, which will expire in November 2024:

  • Mark Crews, Sr.
  • Gary Minor
  • Debbie Hughes
  • Tim Parker III
  • Norman Crow

The Commission also appointed Gary Nichols to a four-year term also ending in November 2024, which filled a current vacancy on the board.
