Cottondale Man Killed In Fayette County Crash Saturday

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 42-year-old Joseph T. Box was killed in a wreck Saturday afternoon in Fayette.

FAYETTE, AL — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says a Tuscaloosa County man was killed Saturday in a single-vehicle crash in Fayette County on Alabama Highway 159.

ALEA identified the victim of the crash as Cottondale native Joseph T. Box, 42, who was pronounced dead at the scene after the 2006 Lexus GS300 he was driving lost control in a curve and struck several trees when it left the roadway.

The crash occurred around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, approximately seven miles north of the city of Fayette.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
