Crimson Tide Golfer Nick Dunlap Wins 123rd U.S. Amateur
The ninth-ranked amateur in the world, Dunlap edged out Ohio State's Neal Shipley to claim the most-coveted title in amateur golf.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — University of Alabama golfer Nick Dunlap on Sunday joined Tiger Woods as one of only two golfers in the history of the sport to win both the United States Golf Association's U.S. Junior Amateur and the Amateur Championship with his win in the 36-hole final at Cherry Hills Country Club in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado.

The ninth-ranked amateur in the world and a second-team PING All-American, Dunlap edged out Ohio State's Neal Shipley to claim the most-coveted title in amateur golf. This comes after he won the U.S. Junior Amateur in 2021.

A total of 312 amateur golfers competed in the event.
With the win, Dunlap becomes only the second player in Crimson Tide golf program history to win the U.S. Amateur, with Jerry Pate winning the title in 1974.

Next up on the schedule for Dunlap will be a trip across the pond in September to compete as part of the 2023 United States Walker Cup team at St. Andrews in Scotland.
