DCH Health System President & CEO Katrina Keefer said the raises are part of an ongoing $25 million investment its the overall organization.

“I’m hopeful that our caregivers and the community see that we are serious when we say that DCH is seeking to be the employer of choice for not only the best and brightest, but those most committed to excellence in patient care," she said.

The health care provider cited findings from an industry workforce expert in determining if its salary rates and ranges were competitive.

DCH officials then provided an example of the new rates, explaining the entry level rate for RNs will increase by $6 an hour.

The announcement was also made eight months after DCH Health System increased its minimum wage for positions — such as personal care assistants, environmental services and food services employees — from $10 an hour to $14 an hour.

This was reported to have drastically reduced vacancy rates for those positions, with DCH saying it has resulted in lower turnover rates for the system.

“This will help better position DCH for rewarding, retaining and attracting top talent, and those are key components to better care,” Keefer said. “We understand the importance of earning the trust of the communities we serve, and feel that we will be best positioned to do so with this investment in our greatest assets, our team of caregivers.”
