Denmark Tech's Todd Introduced As Second Candidate In Stillman President Search
Denmark Technical College President Willie L. Todd is the second candidate introduced who is vying to be the next president at Stillman.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College on Tuesday announced Denmark Technical College President Willie L. Todd, Jr. as the second of three candidates interviewing to become the next president of Stillman College.

Todd has nearly three decades of experience in higher education at six distinct higher education institutions, most recently serving as the ninth president of Denmark Technical College — an HBCU in Denmark, South Carolina.

During his time leading the college, Todd is credited with securing $32 million in external funding to the institution, in addition to cultivating 24 partnerships and collaborations with Fortune 500 companies, regional organizations, six school districts, and other higher education institutions.
Todd has served in his current role for the last four years and saw Denmark Technical College become the fastest-growing public college in the South Carolina Technical College System.

He was also recognized earlier this year as the 2022-2023 President/CEO of the year by the South Carolina Association of Technical College Commissioners.
Denmark Tech over the last three years has also reported a 48% increase in enrollment, while also adding six new programs, with three additional programs starting this fall.
Before his current role, Todd served as the vice president for Academic Affairs and Student Services at Denmark Technical College and previously worked as provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Wiley College.
Todd has also held administrative roles at Norfolk State University, Clark Atlanta University, Georgia State University at Perimeter College, Fayetteville State University, and Albany State University.
Todd holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in English from Georgia State University; a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration (Student Affairs’ Concentration) from Regent University; a Master of Education degree in English Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, both from Albany State University.
The candidates vying to be the next president of Stillman College will be on campus once against Wednesday this week to meet with Stillman staff and leadership, along with answering questions from community members.
Interview sessions for Stillman College cabinet members, faculty, staff, students, and alumni will be held in the Warner Presentation Room in the Wynn Center. Separately, the sessions for Tuscaloosa-area leaders will be held at Hotel Indigo in the Yellowhammer Room
Each session will also be broadcast via Zoom for those who can't attend in person.
Stillman College spokesperson David Miller told Patch that each of the three candidates will be officially introduced on the day of their interviews. The final candidate will be officially introduced on Wednesday.
As Patch previously reported, the first candidate introduced on Monday was F. Erik Brooks, a native of Montgomery who currently serves as the provost and vice president for Academic Affairs at Central State University.
