Details about the accident have not been made public.

However, NRCA said Aaron Galea remains hospitalized as he undergoes treatment and faces what school officials described as a difficult recovery ahead.

The school then asked for prayers for Aaron and his wife, Chrissy Galea, who is a beloved second grade teacher at the school.

“Aaron is also dearly loved around our school family as one of our part-time substitute teachers, and we know so many of our students, staff, and families care deeply for them both,” NRCA said in the announcement.

School officials said Chrissy Galea is spending long hours at the hospital while also arranging care for the couple’s children.

While NRCA is asking supporters for prayers, the school is collecting monetary donations to support the Galea family while Aaron is unable to work during his recovery.

Donations may be sent directly to the family through Venmo: @chrissy-halcomb or dropped off at the school office beginning next Tuesday.

“Every prayer, donation, and act of kindness means more than words can express,” the statement said. “Thank you for helping us love and support one of our own during this time.”
