Eli Gold, Chris Stewart To Split Play-By-Play Duties For 2023 Season
Crimson Tide football and its broadcasting team will begin the season on Saturday, Sept. 2 when Alabama hosts Middle Tennessee.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Crimson Tide Sports Marketing on Wednesday announced that longtime Crimson Tide Sports Network broadcaster Eli Gold will return to the booth this season to call home football games, while beloved broadcaster Chris Stewart will be on the airwaves for away games.

As Patch previously reported, Stewart handled play-by-play duties during the 2022 football season after Gold was diagnosed with cancer after a tumor was found in his esophagus.

Gold has been in the booth for the Crimson Tide since 1988. He is now reportedly cancer-free and ready to get back to work.

Additionally, CTSN announced that former Alabama quarterback Tyler Watts will replace John Parker Wilson as the color analyst for the team, with Wilson stepping down after five years as an analyst.
Rounding out the team will be former Alabama outside linebacker Christian Miller, who will return for his second season a the team's sideline reporter.
