Firehouse Subs To Open New Concept In Northport Before End Of Winter, Add 45 Jobs To Area

Firehouse Subs is wrapping up construction on its first Northport restaurant and plans to be open before the end of this winter.

NORTHPORT, AL — Firehouse Subs says it in wrapping up construction on its first Northport restaurant and plans to be open before the end of this winter.

The new location at 3300 McFarland Boulevard, Suite A represents the first location in Alabama to feature the brand’s new Community Design layout. Once opened, the new location hopes to bring 45 new jobs to Northport.

The new concept includes an updated design and a repositioned ordering area, in addition to designated space for Rapid Rescue To Go orders made online or through the Firehouse Subs app.

The Community Design first debuted in July 2019 in the company's hometown market of Jacksonville, Florida.

The new restaurant, which shares the North Square Plaza outlet with Papa Murphy's Pizza and the soon-to-open Great American Cookies and Marble Slab Creamery, will be owned by local franchisees Jim Cain and Bradley Cain.

Once opened, the Northport location represents the fourth Firehouse Subs restaurant for the father and son business partners who own and operate three other locations in the Birmingham area.

A portion of every purchase at the new Firehouse Subs will got to benefit its Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, which has donated more than $1.4 million to first responders in the Birmingham area.
